About Us
Holy Rosary Catholic School located in Edmonds, Washington began in 1964 with an enrollment of 120 students in grades First through Third. The school was staffed by Sisters from The Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary order and one lay-teacher. Parents were also a huge asset to the school, being called on to assist with numerous duties, a tradition that continues to be important at our school.
Today, Holy Rosary enrolls 261 students in
grades Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth. Our staff incorporates our
Mission and Philosophy into the development and implementation of
all curriculum. The students and staff integrate the School Wide Learning
Expectations into daily experiences. The student body participates in First Friday Masses as well as Friday Assemblies.
The staff meets Monday afternoons to conduct weekly staff meetings and development.
On Wednesday mornings the staff meets prior to the start of school to share in
Prayer and Reflection.
Holy Rosary Catholic School is a primary ministry of Holy Rosary Parish. The mission of Holy Rosary School is to educate children to be Catholic Christians and stewards of their talents as effective communicators, responsible citizens, and life-long learners. We are accountable to the standards of Washington State and the Archdiocese of Seattle, our school wide learning expectations and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Holy Rosary Parish School committed to the development of the whole child. Our statement reflects parents as the primary educators and teachers as facilitators of learning and recognizes the dignity of all members of the school community, guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ. We continue the long tradition of Catholic education to prepare future Christian leaders to live their faith daily in the home, in the parish and in the community. Holy Rosary School prepares each student to be socially responsible for self, others, and the environment. We believe that Christ is in us, among us, giving dignity to all. Holy Rosary School challenges every child to achieve academic excellence through a variety of learning experiences. We emphasize comprehensive instruction and focus on the needs of the whole person. We ask that students strive to be active Catholic Christians who see, live and celebrate as a Catholic. We ask that students endeavor to be effective communicators in the written and spoken word, pursue critical thinking skills as responsible citizens, and develop intellectual curiosity as life-long learners. We encourage the collaboration of parents, parish, and school organizations to extend and enhance the learning experience.
An Active Catholic Christian who "Sees, Celebrates and Lives as a Catholic".
