In fourth grade our students are moving forward as they transition from learning to read, to reading to learn.
This is the first year we have letter grades for our students, and we emphasize that students become independent, accountable learners.
In fourth grade, we place more emphasis on organization and planning skills so students become practiced at moving quickly between subject areas.
Several long term projects and presentations will be used to develop the students research, writing, and reporting skills. These basic skills are necessary in preparation for the rigorous grades that follow.
